JetBlue Begins the First Nonstop Service Between San Francisco and Fort Lauderdale

    SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ -- Customer-focused JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq: JBLU) today begins the first-ever nonstop service between San Francisco and Fort Lauderdale, the first in a series of new JetBlue flights planned for San Francisco International Airport (SFO) this winter. To celebrate this new flight, JetBlue is offering a special $79 fare (a) for travel December 1, 2009 through February 28, 2010, blackout dates not included.  Travel must be booked by November 18, 2009.

    JetBlue's new daily flight between SFO and its focus city at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport not only offers travelers a key link between the Bay Area and South Florida, but also provides new connecting options to top Caribbean destinations including Cancun, Mexico; Nassau, Bahamas; and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

    By January, JetBlue will have nearly doubled service at SFO by adding two new daily nonstop flights to its West Coast focus city at L.A.'s easy-in, easy-out Long Beach Airport (for a total of five daily flights); a second daily nonstop flight to its focus city at Boston's Logan International Airport; and a second daily nonstop flight to the airline's traveler-friendly home at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport Terminal Five.

 

    JetBlue's new SFO - Fort Lauderdale route is operated with the Airbus A320, which offers Customers top amenities including the most legroom in coach of any U.S. airline (b), 36 channels of complimentary DIRECTV(R) (c), more than 100 channels of XM Satellite Radio(R), and unlimited free snacks and drinks. For a small fee (just $40 each way between San Francisco and Fort Lauderdale) customers can upgrade to one of JetBlue's super-spacious Even More Legroom seats, which offer travelers a sumptuous 38" between seats.

 

    Overnight flights from San Francisco to the East Coast include JetBlue's complimentary Shut-Eye Service, featuring a Snooze Kit that includes earplugs and eyeshades, plus unlimited free snacks and beverages and a "good morning" hot towel service. Before arrival, customers are treated to Dunkin' Donuts coffee, fruit juice, and bottled spring water, allowing them to land refreshed and ready to start the day.

Travel costs $15 more per person if purchased by telephone, or at an airport or city ticket office. Fares require up to a 7-day advance purchase. Travel must take place between December 1, 2009 and February 28, 2010. Travel must be completed by February 28, 2010. Blackout dates for travel are between December 17, 2009 and January 4, 2010. Travel must take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Saturday. Fares may not be available on all days or on all flights. All fares must be purchased at time of reservation, and are one-way, nonrefundable, and nontransferable. Cancellations and changes can be made prior to scheduled departure for $100 per person at 1-800-JETBLUE (1-800-538-2583), TTY/TDD 1-800-336-5530, or at jetblue.com, with applicable fare adjustment. Cancellations are for a JetBlue travel credit only, which is valid for one year.
