Spirit Airlines Now Offers Connections to Cancun, Mexico; One Flight Daily Through Fort Lauderdale, Florida

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(HISPANIC PR WIRE - BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 23, 2004--Spirit Airlines, the largest privately-held carrier in the U.S. and the low-fare leader now offers travelers one-stop service from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Cancun, Mexico.

With one flight daily, travelers will be able to depart San Juan at 8:10 a.m., have an easy connection in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. And arrive in Cancun, Mexico by 12:50 p.m. The return trip offers a flight departing Cancun at 1:59 p.m. with a connection in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and arriving in San Juan at 11:00 p.m. "Our customers in Puerto Rico told us they were interested in Mexico, so when we inaugurated our service to Cancun on December 18, 2003 we quickly followed to assure we had connections from San Juan," said Tom Anderson, Spirit's chief marketing officer.


Fares are available at $166(1) per person each way based on round trip purchase and are available at http://www.spiritair.com. Fare is for travel thru March 31, 2004. Additional low fare fares are available through local travel agents or by calling 1-800-756-7117.

-- (1) This non-refundable fare must be booked on http://www.spiritair.com and is inclusive of a $5.00 Internet discount. Fares are each way based on round trip purchase. Fares do not include (a) a segment tax of $3.10 per U.S. domestic flight segment of a passenger's itinerary; a flight segment is defined as one take-off and landing (b) up to $18.00 per round trip in local airport charges; and (c) September 11th Security Fee of $2.50 per enplanement originating at a U.S. airport up to $5.00 per one way or $10.00 per round trip. Puerto Rico fares do not include government taxes and fees of $13.70 each way. Cancun fares do not include government taxes and fees of up to $108.00 per round trip. Fares are subject to availability and may not be available on all flights on all days. Certain restrictions apply. Blackout dates are January 16 through 19, 2004. Other restrictions may apply.
