IRVING, Texas, Nov. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — The 2015 NSHMBA Conference & Career Expo, held in Chicago this past October, consummated the 27th successful and impactful conference for the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA).

As in years past, the 2015 NSHMBA Conference & Career Expo was packed full of big multi-million dollar corporations seeking to employ conference attendees.  In fact, 47 percent of companies on the floor were the nation’s largest companies ranking in the Fortune 500 list earlier this year.

“Attendees were overwhelmed by the quantity and quality of exhibiting companies recruiting at NSHMBA’s conference,” said NSHMBA VP of Operations Angela Tristan. “The opportunity to be interviewed by a Fortune 500 company with the potential of being hired on the spot is a big deal.”

Fortune 500 ranked Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies demonstrated their commitment to NSHMBA and Hispanics by bringing their very own CEO, Alex Gorsky, to the NSHMBA Conference who spoke at the Friday Luncheon.

“First of all, I want to say what an honor and a privilege it is for me to be here in Chicago with all of you,” said Gorsky. “To get a chance to speak with you, your community, it is just a great opportunity to connect.”

“NSHMBA is honored Alex Gorsky made the time and effort to join us at the Friday Luncheon during our Conference in Chicago,” said NSHMBA Interim CEO Thomas Savino. “The importance Johnson & Johnson places on inclusion and diversity in the workplace is evident, rarely do companies make this kind of effort.”

In addition to having an expo floor full of high-level, prominent corporations and speakers during conference, NSHMBA’s academic presence held strong as students were able to shop for graduate programs and jobs on the floor.

In fact, 165 corporate, academic, non-profit and government partners seeking to diversify their workplace had booths on the career expo floor, including co-sponsors Nationwide, the Lincoln Motor Company, Northeastern Illinois University, and the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).

“I am optimistic even more CEO’s from Fortune 500 companies will see the importance of empowering Hispanics and make their mark by attending or speaking at a NSHMBA event,” said Savino.
