Hispanic Heritage Month has been celebrated from September 15th to October 15th since President Ronald Reagan expanded the celebration from one week in 1988. According to the Hispanic Heritage Month website created by the Library of Congress, in 1968, President Lyndon Johnson began the celebration as Hispanic Heritage Week.
