Northfield, IL--(HISPANIC PR WIRE)--September 4, 2007--Traditionally, Hispanic women manage how meals are prepared in the home, as a way of keeping their family together and traditions alive as they work to maneuver their new life in the United States. Kraft Foods understands that Hispanic mothers go through a constant negotiation between their new lifestyle in the U.S. and their family traditions.* Food, especially recipes taught by abuelita, is a simple way of combining aspects of the past and the present, becoming the glue that holds a family together. For this reason, Kraft Foods and several of its most popular brands have joined with Bibi Gaytán, famous Mexican actress and mother, on the De mamá a mamá/ From Mom to Mom program as a way for mothers to share ideas to help manage the hectic life of motherhood.

Bibi Gaytán left the glitzy world of Novelas to embrace motherhood and discovered how to create a nurturing environment for her kids and prepare their favorite dishes. Now with Kraft Foods, Bibi returns to her most beloved role ever - a mother - to share her own experiences and solutions for every day, including quick ideas, smarter food choices and ideas on how to spend time with the family.

As any mom, I am always exploring new ways to be ‘supermom’, while spending quality time with my children and providing them with smarter lifestyle choices so they can keep their bodies and minds strong

“As any mom, I am always exploring new ways to be ‘supermom’, while spending quality time with my children and providing them with smarter lifestyle choices so they can keep their bodies and minds strong,” said Bibi Gaytán. “I am excited to work with Kraft Foods on this program to share a wealth of valuable information, ideas and inspiration with Latina moms to help them balance their two worlds.”

Mom Solutions for Every Day
With Kraft's focus on growing trends, like quicker meals and health and wellness, the partnership with Bibi is another example of how Kraft Foods is helping make moms life easier, while providing sensible meal ideas. The De mamá a mamá program was developed to celebrate Hispanic mothers and create a forum to help moms manage the constant balancing act they do every day. In fact, one of the easiest ways moms can enjoy the benefits of the program is by following some of Bibi’s tips:

Quick Ideas: During busy days, like when preparing for a family gathering, make delicious and simple finger foods that will allow you to have time for yourself instead of worrying about the kitchen. Oscar Mayer hot dogs and Ritz crackers with a little bit of guava and Kraft Naturals cheese are a fast meal the kids will love.

Smarter Food Choices: Make smarter food choices on every day meals that have a combination of balance, variety and moderation, but still fun for the whole family! It’s so easy to add fresh ingredients, such as veggies to any dish, including the perennial favorite Kraft Macaroni & Cheese dinner. Serve Jell-O gelatin snacks in fun shapes like soccer balls or flowers with a side of fresh fruit, like papaya or mango for a merienda that the kids are sure to love.

Spending Time with the Family: Being a mom is one of the most fulfilling roles a woman will ever have. That’s why it’s so important to take a break from busy carpooling, cleaning the house or even cooking to spend time with those that matter most. Imagine sharing a picnic indoors during a rainy day or playing a board game while enjoying some milk or café con leche with Oreo cookies.

“With the Kraft brands that moms know and trust and our Kraft Kitchen experts, we can help create avenues in which Latina mothers can receive, share and incorporate solutions into their everyday life,” said Yolanda Angulo, Director of Multicultural Marketing for Kraft Foods. “We know how time consuming being a mom can be and how important it is to spend quality time with loved ones,” explained Yolanda Angulo. “Working hand in hand with Bibi Gaytán on our De mamá a mamá program, we can help Latina mothers across the U.S. make every day special for their families.”

The Kraft De mamá a mamá program incorporates a series of television vignettes and radio spots showcased in top Hispanic markets as well as in-store demonstrations in Texas (San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, McAllen, Harlingen and Brownsville), Miami, New York and Los Angeles. Additionally, media workshops for mothers will feature Bibi Gaytán as well as a Hispanic Kraft Kitchen expert to empower and enhance the lives of Latina moms in select markets.
