Aerogal Arrives In Miami; the City Officially Becomes Its First U.S. Destination

New Miami – Ecuador Route Offers All Passengers First Class Service

Miami, FL—(HISPANIC PR WIRE – PR NEWSWIRE)–January 10, 2008–Aerogal, Ecuador’s premier airline, has officially declared Miami its first U.S. destination. The airline’s Boeing 737 plane landed on Miami International Airport grounds just recently, accomplishing its goal of becoming the only international Ecuadorian airline offering first class service to all passengers. The airline will now provide daily non-stop service from Guayaquil’s Jose Juaquin de Olmedo Airport to Miami International Airport.

The much awaited inaugural flight to Miami was well received by a host of special guests at a private reception held immediately after landing. Special guests welcoming the airline included Juan Carlos Toledo, General Consul of Ecuador; Tony Ojeda, Executive Director of Miami-Dade County’s International Trade Consortium and Lauren Stover, Assistant Aviation Director for Miami International Airport. The Miami-Dade County Fire Department gave Aerogal its first greeting on the runway with the traditional water cannon salute, soaking the plane with two giant water hoses from either side.

“As the first and only Ecuadorian airline to offer a route to the U.S., we are extremely pleased to have been welcomed by such an esteemed panel of guests at Miami International Airport,” stated Gabriela Sommerfeld, President and CEO of Aerogal. “Our arrival to Miami symbolizes only the beginning of what we are set to accomplish. Our goal is to bring our signature first class service to all key U.S. cities, enabling both tourists and Ecuadorians to experience a safe and comfortable trip, especially now during this busy holiday season.”

Aerogal’s new flight will be the only one to offer first class service to all passengers including welcome champagne, warm meals, digestives, snacks and their own flat panel TV. Miami has now become Aerogal’s first U.S destination, and the airline will be the only carrier offering flights from Miami to the famed Galapagos islands.

Since its re-launch in 2002, Aerogal has been blazing new trails in airline service, becoming one of the first in the world to begin Smart Voyager certification, an Environmental Certification that evaluates aspects such as social-environmental responsibility politics, natural ecosystems conservation and reduction of negative environmental impacts. In addition, as part of Aerogal’s ‘green’ initiatives, the airline has begun an environmentally friendly program in the Galapagos, requiring all airlines that fly into the destination to abide by certain rules and regulations that protect the Galapagos Islands’ flora and fauna.

The schedule for the new route is:

Flight # 901

MIA 5:00 pm

GYE 10:00 am

MIA 2:30 pm

GYE 9:30 pm
