Denver, CO–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–February 5, 2004–Margarita Alarcon has been named media relations representative for Xcel Energy (NYSE: XEL), the company announced today. In addition to her regular English media relations responsibilities, she also will focus on working with Spanish-language media groups.
Alarcon joins Xcel Energy with 10 years of marketing and public relations background in the high-tech, Internet and telecommunications industries. Alarcon held manager and director positions with such companies as Qualcomm, Sprint PCS, The Ken Blanchard Companies and the United States Olympic Committee. Alarcon is also a native Spanish speaker and will contribute to the company’s efforts to reach and connect with Spanish language customers.

Alarcon is a magna cum laude graduate holding a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of New Mexico, with a double major in Communication and Latin American Studies. She has also earned a Master’s of Science in Executive Leadership degree from The University of San Diego, California.
