DULLES, Va. & LOS ANGELES–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–April 3, 2003–America Online, Inc., the world’s leading interactive services company, and Univision Communications Inc., the leading Spanish-language media company in the United States, today announced a renewal and expansion of an extensive strategic content and marketing alliance.
The agreement will fortify both companies’ efforts to increase US Hispanic Internet penetration and better reach current Hispanic Internet users – the country’s fastest-growing online community. Under the alliance, AOL Latino will incorporate content from Univision that will include articles and photo galleries. To enhance AOL’s Broadband offering, Univision will also provide AOL with broadband content that will include special Latino celebrity clips, news content and other entertainment features. In addition, Univision will promote AOL through Univision.com and AOL will provide its 35 million members access to Univision through AOL Keyword: Univision.
Additionally, AOL and Univision will launch a comprehensive Spanish-language television advertising campaign, which will receive significant brand exposure across Univision’s networks. The campaign, to be developed by Casanova Pendrill, will be featured on the Univision Network, the most-watched Spanish-language broadcast television network in the US, currently reaching 97% of US Hispanic households; Galavision, the country’s leading Spanish-language cable network; and TeleFutura, the nation’s newest 24-hour, general interest, Spanish-language broadcast television network. Univision will also create and host a version of Univision.com, which will be co-branded and customized for AOL.
