Latin Pop Star Ana Cristina Chosen to Open the 2006 NBA Eastern Conference Finals

Miami, FL–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–May 19, 2006–The Miami Heat along with the NBA today confirmed Miami’s own singer/songwriter Ana Cristina to perform the opening ceremony of the 2006 NBA Eastern Conference Finals at the American Airlines Arena.

Not a newcomer to bringing music to sports events, Ana Cristina performed this year in Madison Square Garden for the Knicks, for the FedEx Orange Bowl, recorded the promotional song for the 2006 World Cup, and is currently writing music for next year’s Copa America soccer championship.

Cuban-American Ana Cristina, 20, was born and raised in Miami, made her mark in the music industry last year with the release of her debut album that featured her chart-topping single “A Un Paso De Mi Amor.” She also made history by becoming the first Hispanic to ever perform the “Star Spangled Banner” at a presidential inauguration on January 20, 2005. She was signed to Sony Music at the age of fifteen and at only seventeen, already had the theme/theme song of International soap opera “Vivan Los Ninos” which was telecasted worldwide. Ana Cristina has worked with some of the best multi-Grammy winning producers in the industry including Emilio Estefan, Rudy Perez, Kike Santander, and Estefano just to name a few.

This young prodigy is a guitarist, pianist, singer and songwriter. She is currently writing and recording her second album.
