Ms Anna Carbonell VP NBC/TELEMUNDO Latinos in Information Sciences and Technology Association (LISTA) Named Lifetime Achiever Award for 2007


New York, NY–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–January 2, 2007–On January 4th, 2007 over 500 Hispanic American Business Leaders and Government Officials will come together to honor Ms. Anna Carbonell VP NBC/Telemundo for her Dedication to the Hispanic Community and Lifetime Achievements.

January 2nd 2007 – New York – LISTA announced today that it has selected Ms. Anna Carbonell as the recipient of the Latinos in Information Sciences and Technology Association (LISTA)

3rd Annual Lifetime Achievement Award for her work in broadcast journalism, for being a trailblazer in the broadcast industry and her life long commitment to the empowerment of the Hispanic community.

The award will be presented on January 4th at 6:30pm at the LISTA event commemorating the Three Kings Day Fiesta Navideña. The event will be held at the Trendy Chelsea District’s Sol Club at 609 w 29th street (Btw. 11th and 12th) New York, NY 10001 and is sponsored by UBS, Microsoft, RCN, STAPLES, NBC/Telemundo, SPRINT, CIT, HITN, Southwest Airlines, IBM, Hispanic Business Magazine Sanchez Bodden Lerner, Nielsen Media Research, SPRINT, Lehman Brothers, The New York Times, Verizon, Battery Park City Authority, LLANJ, GNYCC, NYSFHCC, and the USHCC

About Anna Carbonell VP NBC/ Telemundo:

Anna Carbonell serves as Vice President, Press And Public Affairs, NBC4 And Telemundo 47 and as a member of the NBC Diversity Council. While she directs the stations’ press and community service efforts throughout the Tri-State area, a position she assumed in July 2002, Carbonell also advises senior management as to best practices and corporate policy for securing and maintaining a highly qualified and diverse workforce. Following the NBC/Telemundo merger announcement in 2000, Carbonell was named a member of the Integration Team, assisting in the overall public relations efforts.

Carbonell has nearly 30 years of experience working in the Tri-State community in the press and public relations arena. She joined Channel 4 from WABC-TV, where she served as the official voice of Channel 7 and manager of press information and public affairs. Carbonell was also host and executive-producer of the station’s public affairs program TIEMPO for more than 13 years. While at WABC-TV, Carbonell assisted in the production of several public affairs programs, including co-production of the CEBA Award winning Making It: a Message to African American Youth, which helped launch the award winning series.

Named one of the 100 Most Influential Hispanics in the Nation by Hispanic Business Magazine in 1989 and one of the 50 New York Influential Latinos by the New York Daily News in 1995, Carbonell has received numerous industry honors and recognitions throughout her career, most recently receiving the Board of Governor’s Award for Lifetime Achievement by the local chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Her many board memberships and industry affiliations include roles with the National Association of Hispanic Journalists; MALDEF; PRLDEF, and City Arts to name just a few. Recently the Mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg named Carbonell to the Latin Media & Entertainment Commission, responsible for attracting major Latin events to New York City.

A native of Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Carbonell resides in Manhattan. A firm believer that the key to success is belief in oneself, Carbonell concludes all her speaking engagements with the words: “Be good to yourself, be proud of yourself.”
