Miami, FL–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–December 3, 2007–Spanish Broadcasting System Inc. (SBS) (NASDAQ:SBSA) and MEGA TV Channel 22 announced today that the famous Cuban music producer, Emilio Estefan Jr, will guest star on “Bayly,” MEGA TV’s version of “Larry King Live,” this Tuesday, December 4 at 10:00 PM EST and at 11:00 PM PST on DirecTV Channel 405.

In addition to being a music and film producer, Emilio is also a member of President George W. Bush’s Committee of the Arts and Humanities and is responsible for coordinating artistic and cultural events for the White House.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to produce events for the White House,” said Estefan. “It gives me the opportunity to showcase Latin roots to leading politicians and dignitaries from all over the world.”

Emilio Estefan has recently completed his documentary “90 Millas” (“90 Miles”), which will debut at The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) on December 13. “90 Millas” represents the distance between Cuba and Florida and the film will examine the experience of Cuban musicians who have taken refuge in the United States as they feel so far away from their homeland, despite it being a short distance.

During the celebration of the documentary’s premier, Estefan’s wife, Gloria Estefan, will perform several songs from the album produced by Emilio, which has the same name as the documentary and recently reached number one on the Latin Billboard Charts.

During his career, Estefan has received 14 Grammy Awards and was honored as the first “Person of the Year” by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences in 2000 for his work as music producer. Estefan has also been instrumental in the development and production of the Latin Grammy Awards. In addition, Emilio is the co-publisher of “Ocean Drive En Español,” one of the leading Hispanic lifestyle magazines.

The drive and passion that Emilio has for his music has also characterized his successful foray into being an investor and developer in the hospitality industry. In the early 1990s, he opened “Larios on the Beach” in Miami. Currently, The Estefans own Bongos Cuban Café in Orlando’s Walt Disney Resort and in the American Airlines Arena in Miami, achieving the same level of success.

As a teenager who migrated from his birthplace of Cuba to the United States in the 1960s, Emilio experienced the cultural and racial differences that characterized the great migration to the United States.

“I can say, very respectfully, that I understand the gap between Latino and Anglo cultures,” Estefan said explaining his success. “My ability to work within the gap between these two cultures has allowed me to create my work,” said Estefan.

In addition to 14 Grammy’s, Emilio was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, where he received the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award and was honored by the Former United States Secretary of State, Colin Powell. In 2005, he won the BMI Songwriter of the Year Award and got his personal star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. Estefan also has Honorary Doctorate degrees from Barry University, University of Miami, and Florida International University.

Emilio and Gloria are also actively involved in the community. The Gloria Estefan Foundation was established with the purpose of supporting various organizations, geared towards research and finding cures for all different types of illnesses that effect children all over the world.

“It is important to give back a part of what you have received,” said Emilio. “That’s why Gloria and I are always getting involved with the Latino and Anglo community.”

A musician, producer, creator, visionary, husband, father, friend and an influential person of the community, Emilio Estefan Jr is a true symbol of the new Latino.
