New York, NY–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–September 12, 2005–Boy Wonder, the red-hot producer who created the Latin platinum selling album, The Chosen Few: El Documental is now giving Reggaeton fans the chance to pick their next superstars with the creation of Chosen Few Presents: El Draft, an American Idol-esque competition that will allow fans of this underground music genre to pick its next superstars. Contestants will be competing for the chance to have their single heavily promoted in both Puerto Rico, in the United States and worldwide – something most Reggaeton artists have yet to achieve. An album featuring music by the contestants and a nationwide tour will follow the competition.
Noted Reggaeton artist and producer Chencho, of duo Plan B, originally came up with the concept of finding stars in the genre and giving them worldwide exposure. He then proceeded to team up with Boy Wonder and UBO to create El Draft.
On August 3rd, 2005, the winners of the Reggaeton Draft “Rakim Y Ken Y” were announced at Club Spirit in New York City.
Two weeks prior, thousands of Reggaeton fans from the US to Puerto Rico voted for their number one Draft pick.
The turnout for the voting was so great; we’ve decided to have a second round of voting!
Fans can now vote for the second single from El Draft.
This time, we are giving away a pair of tickets to Puerto Rico as the grand prize! If you already live in Puerto Rico, you can win tickets to New York City.
Take part in choosing the next Reggaeton superstar!
