Nashville, TN–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–April 5, 2006–Captain D’s, a pioneer and leader in fast casual dining segment for seafood, will expand into its second international location with the addition of Puerto Rico as a new development territory. Captain D’s has signed a letter of intent with the Restaurant Development Group, LLC of Brentwood, TN, for the development of up to 125 units during the next 10 years in Puerto Rico.

Danny York, a principal of Restaurant Development Group, and Mike Pearce, Captain D’s vice president of franchise development announced the agreement.

One of York’s partners currently operates the 7-11 stores in Puerto Rico. A 20-year-veteran restaurant operator, York and his companies have operated Santa Fe Cattle Company Steakhouses in Alabama, California, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Tennessee, along with Roly Poly Sandwich Shops also based in Tennessee.

According to York, Restaurant Development Group will open its first Captain D’s in Puerto Rico later this summer.

Headquartered in Nashville, Captain D’s was founded in 1969 and offers customers a menu of seafood featuring its signature dish of hand-cut and hand-battered fried fish along with baked or broiled fish, shrimp, chicken and home-style side dishes.
