CATALINA Magazine Brings Together Fabulous Fashion and Latina Leaders in a Posh Setting … for a Great Cause

Essence of Latinas’ Event and Fundraiser Comes to New York


New York, NY–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–June 10, 2004–New Yorkers are invited to get up close and personal with the women featured in the national lifestyle magazine CATALINA during the annual “Essence of Latinas” event at the exclusive Princeton Club in New York City. Latino leaders, celebrities, and CATALINA readers are invited to experience NY at its best – fabulous fashion, familiar faces, a posh setting – all for a good cause.


Tuesday, June 15, at 6 to 9 p.m.


NY’s exclusive Princeton Club of New York, on 15 West 43rd Street (between 5th and 6th Avenues).

Attendees will mingle with Heiress Carolina Bacardi, who will unveil her new ‘simple’ CATALINA cover, the day before Paris Hilton’s Simple Life 2 airs. Others joining Carolina Bacardi, All My Children actress Natalia Cigluiti, NY Filmmaker Beverly Orozco Simmons, Television news editor and producer Maritza Puello, and more great women who are sure to inspire attendees.

CATALINA “Essence of Latinas” event in New York is part of the magazine’s national tour which inspires attendees with powerful Latina speakers, and gives back to the Hispanic community. A silent auction will be held during the event with 100 % of the proceeds benefiting the Latino Commission on AIDS – a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to improving and expanding health promotion, research, treatment and other services to the Latino community through organizing, education, model program development, capacity building & training. Items up for bid include designs already featured in CATALINA magazine – including jewelry by Latina-owned Heaven Sent jewelry, couture dresses by designer Celina Guity, a custom-made pillow with French floral tapestry fabric and trimming by Balbina Lambert, silk scarves by Diane Parsons, hand bags by zazii, and more.

CATALINA raised more than $50,000 for Latino non-profits in 2003.
