Clara Gómez, President of Total Translations, Inc. and the Florida Ambassador of Commerce to Colombia for IBCF, receives Women of Virtue Award from LatinBiz

Miami, FL–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–October 3, 2007–LatinBiz magazine, the official publication of Latin Business Club of America, presented the Women of Virtue Awards 2007 to 11 of the most influential women in South Florida. Clara Gómez, President of Total Translations Inc. and the Florida Ambassador of Commerce to Colombia for the International Business Council of Florida (IBCF) was one of the women honored.

The event, sponsored by Eastern Financial Florida Credit Union, New York Life, Hace (Hispanic Alliance of Career Enhancement), MAS Solutions, Hyatt Hotels and Microsoft, and organized by the Latin Business Club of America, took place on September 27 at the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables. Monica Puig, president of LatinBiz, said: “we are honoring outstanding professional women in our community who through their virtue and work bring about social and economic change support of other women, serve as outstanding role models, and demonstrate outstanding performance within their professions to further advance women in their fields.”

The Women of Virtue Awards were also awarded to the Honorable Carmenza Jaramillo, the former Colombian General Consul for the past nine years, Nancy Pulecio, President of Colombia Exterior, Dr. Susan Angulo, Assistant Vice-President of Academic Affairs, St. Thomas University, Berta Bravo, President of The Guayabera Lady, Ana Mederos, CEO of Palmetto General Hospital, Gladys Mezrahi, President of Indigo Events, Mariana Montanaro, President of Chefs to Go, Evelynn Lissette Rios, President of Rios Consulting and Master Constructors & Associates, Inc., Mirla Sabino, President of ANK, and Diana Susi, owner of Happy Kids Childcare Centers and founder of AYUDA

After thanking LatinBiz and the sponsors, Clara Gómez, said that “we are very fortunate to live in a society where women are free to choose their own destinies. Clara Gomez is president of Total Translations, Inc. Clara, born in Manizales, Colombia, has lived in the U.S. for more than 20 years. She is a graduate of the College of William and Mary in Virginia, and a Microsoft Systems Engineer. Clara is the Florida Ambassador of Commerce to Colombia for IBCF. She worked for the U.S. Government in Washington D.C. in Alternative Fuel Vehicles initiatives and was part of the President’s Council on Government Improvement. In 1992 Clara participated in a Government Delegation in charge of implementing the transfer of the Panama Canal.
