Miami, FL–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–June
14, 2007–The “Copa América,” one of the oldest and most hotly
contested tournaments in the world, will be broadcast from host country Venezuela
live and in Spanish exclusively on the Univision and TeleFutura Television Networks
from June 26 through July 15, 2007.

Predating even the World
Cup, “Copa América” is staged by CONMEBOL, the regional soccer
federation that governs South America, and is the one tournament that U.S. Hispanic
soccer fans of every national background are anxiously awaiting. The tournament
will feature 26 matches (9 on Univision and 17 on TeleFutura) and will be telecast
live in primetime or late weekend afternoon time periods. (Full broadcast schedule
below.) These exciting match-ups feature all 10 South American teams, plus Mexico
and the U.S.

Adding to the already
heightened excitement, legendary soccer superstar Diego Maradona is scheduled
to provide the opening “kick-off” to this highly anticipated event that
in 2004 resulted in record ratings on both Univision and TeleFutura. This year’s
tournament will also feature 14-time champion Argentina, 7-time champion Brazil
(winner of the most recent tournament in 2004), and the 2001 champion Colombia
along with fan favorites Mexico and the U.S.

“There is no fútbol
event in the world better suited to ignite the passion of Univision’s audience
than ‘Copa América,’ where every team has a huge Hispanic following
in the United States and every match is televised live in the most popular sports
viewing time periods,” said David Downs, President of Univision Sports. “I
have no doubt we will see a tournament every bit as dramatic as the last, where
the final came down to a penalty shootout between the two South American giants
of soccer, Brazil and Argentina.”

Univision and TeleFutura’s
“Copa América” coverage will feature the expert commentary and
analysis of television’s most highly respected soccer sportscasting team
of Pablo Ramírez, Jesús Bracamontes, Jorge Pérez-Navarro
and Diego Balado, along with additional commentary from “República
Deportiva” host Fernando Fiore during pre-game, halftime, and post-game.
