The Presbyterian Hospital in the City of New York, North General Hospital and the Northern Manhattan Network of the NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation founded Community Premier Plus, Inc. (CPP) in 1996. These hospitals were responding to the expected changeover of Medicaid to managed care.

Community Premier Plus’ major goal is to improve access to high quality, coordinated, preventive, and treatment services for a diverse, medically underserved population. The mission has since expanded to include care for the uninsured.

Since 1996, Community Premier Plus has been focused on supporting hospitals, other health care providers and the community at large with the complex transition of managed care and its impact on the financing and organization of health care.
