Telemundo’s ‘Concierto Clandestino’ Takes New York City by Storm

Young Dominican Promoter selected to represent New York City in reality show challenge as Telemundo’s cameras capture the entire process in the production & promotion of the “Biggest Concert in NYC history”

New York, NY–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–January 24, 2007–New York City is preparing to receive a Latin music superstar for “Concierto Clandestino” (Clandestine Concert), a reality show that follows the paths of four participants from four different cities—Los Angeles, Miami, Houston, and New York—as they organize, produce, and promote a series of concerts (sponsored by the Nissan and Sprint companies) in their respective cities. Telemundo’s cameras will record each step taken by these future show promoters for “Concierto Clandestino,” which is a segment on the channel’s variety show “Nítido.”

Young Dominican Wagner Mateo—better known in the tristate area as “DJ Frikkiao,” disc jockey and event promoter through his company—was chosen from among many applicants to represent the city of New York on this exciting reality show. The news of his selection has been met with great enthusiasm on the streets of New York and New Jersey among those anticipating this sensational event. Mateo explained, “What’s interesting and exciting about all this is that I have not been given any information regarding the artist or where the event is to take place. I am promoting an event about which I am daily receiving more details. But the most important details are being kept secret. That makes it more intriguing. I believe I already have the audience on my side, with suspense and awaiting to find out who the artist is. That’s good for the concert’s momentum.”

Each participant will have the necessary tools to promote and produce his or her event. The show is produced and televised by the Telemundo channel on its variety show “Nítido,” which airs according to the following schedule:

— Saturdays 1:30 p.m. Eastern time / 12:30 p.m. Central time

— Sundays 12:00 p.m. Eastern time / 11:00 a.m. Central time
