About NGLC:

The NGLC was founded in January 2003 to raise the marketing profile of New Generation Latinos, comprised of predominantly US-born 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation Latinos, who consume mostly English-language media and represent over $300 billion in purchasing power. With nearly 70% of the U.S. Hispanic market under 35, and US-born Latinos driving 65% of its population growth, the NGLC’s mission is to advocate two key points: 1.) New Generation Latinos represent a viable and lucrative media target audience that merits special attention and 2.) Cross-platform marketing resources are available to effectively reach New Generation Latinos critical to growing U.S. Hispanic market share. NGLC consists of over fifteen member companies in or around New York and Miami and aims to spread to other top U.S. Hispanic markets such as Texas, California, and Illinois through a variety of B2B efforts including conferences, public and private panel discussions, online networking, and grass root events.

About Adweek’s Marketing y Medios:

Adweek’s Marketing y Medios helps marketers and advertisers understand the complex Hispanic market and tap into its explosive growth by covering advertising agencies, marketing initiatives and the explosion of Hispanic media throughout the country. Between 1990 and 2003, the U.S. Hispanic population grew by 61%, encompassing 35.3 million people, the fastest-growing minority group in the country and one with the astonishing purchasing power of $650 billion. Savvy businesses recognize the importance of this huge market, yet this segment continues to be underserved in terms of the amount of advertising and marketing dollars spent on it. The English-language monthly magazine explores the unique challenges encountered by marketers and media serving the Hispanic population and offers keen insight into important distinctions between Spanish-dominant and Spanish-English households, as well as between recent immigrants and acculturated Latinos.
