Panama City, Panama–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–July 6, 2004–Copa Airlines today launched its new EliteAccess program of value-added services and benefits. The program will go into effect on July 8, beginning with Clase Ejecutiva (Business Class) passengers and OnePass Elite frequent flyer members, and later with passengers flying on select fares.

EliteAccess offers expanded privileges and a superior travel experience for customers who travel more frequently and those who prefer the value-added benefits of higher fares. The new exclusive services include priority check-in lines at the airport, preferential boarding privileges, special luggage tags for priority baggage handling, and expedited security-screening lines, among other benefits. In addition, the airline will implement a new service through which passengers flying on select fares will be selected to participate in the benefits of the EliteAccess program on the day of their flights, even if they are not OnePass program members.

“We are proud to present this exclusive value-added customer service, structured by Copa Airlines and Continental Airlines,” said Jorge Garcia Icaza, Business Vice President, Copa Airlines. “We value each customer and EliteAccess is a way for us to reward our most valuable customers who continually honor us with their business.”

Copa Airlines (http://www.copaair.com) began service in 1947. Today the airline flies to 31 destinations in 20 countries in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean from its Hub of the Americas at Tocumen International Airport in Panama City, Panama, one of the most efficient and successful hubs in Latin America. In addition, Copa offers flights to 120 other international destinations through codeshare agreements with Continental and Mexicana airlines. Copa has one of the best on-time performance records in the industry. In 1st quarter 2004, the airline reported an on-time arrival record of 95.6 percent.

Copa Airlines offers nonstop service to Panama City from four U.S. cities: daily from New York city, twice daily from Miami, daily from Los Angeles, and four times a week from Orlando.

Copa Airlines and Continental Airlines share a strategic alliance partnership that includes joint participation in Continental’s award-winning frequent flyer program, OnePass(R). Members of the program may earn miles on either Copa or Continental flights, as well as enjoy the opportunity to redeem miles for tickets, upgrades, and merchandise.

In April 2004, Copa was named Best Airline in Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean by SkyTrax, an English market-survey company that conducts the World Airline Survey, the largest airline passenger survey in existence. In June, Copa was named one of the 25 Top Employers in Latin America in a survey conducted by Chicago-based Hewitt Associates for America Economia Magazine.
