Leadership Summit of Hispanic Nurses Provides Opportunity to Learn About Patient Assistance Programs

The leadership of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) recently met in Boston in anticipation of their upcoming National Conference there next summer and took advantage of an opportunity to learn more about the pharmaceutical industry’s patient assistance programs as a way to help provide access to medicines for the uninsured. The meeting sponsored by Pfizer Helpful Answers (http://www.PfizerHelpfulAnswers.com), a family of programs that helps patients without prescription coverage save on many Pfizer medicines, no matter their age or income, brought together representatives from Pfizer with the presidents of 50 local chapters of NAHN to learn about how the programs work. The programs are designed to provide a comprehensive network of resources and services to the over 47 million people who are uninsured in the U.S.
