Deck the Stalls! Charmin Restrooms Unveil Top 10 Toilet Seat-Cover Designs Submitted By Go Nation Representatives

Representative from Arizona Voted Design-Challenge Winner, Moving Them One Step Closer to $50,000 Bathroom Bounty


NEW YORK, Dec. 9, 2010 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Joining in the seasonal spirit of tree lightings and window displays, Charmin decorated its fifth-annual seasonal Restrooms in New York City by decking the stalls with a colorful array of uniquely-adorned toilet seat covers. The designs, created on Kohler-donated seat covers, were crafted by participants in this year’s Charmin Go Nation competition, and Erica C. representing Arizona was declared the challenge winner based on the judging criteria of creativity and state/district pride.

The Charmin Go Nation challenge, in which passionate potty-goers from across the country are vying for a chance to win the title of Charmin King or Queen of the Throne and take home a $50,000 stipend, began on November 23 – opening day for the Charmin Restrooms – and will continue through December 28. The top five contenders, selected from semi-finalists from around the country, will be flown to New York City for three days and two nights to compete in person for the $50,000 prize.

The winning seat cover design from Arizona, along with the nine other top picks from Tennessee, Washington, D.C., Mississippi, Alabama, Nebraska, Maryland, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Minnesota, will be on display for Charmin Restroom visitors to enjoy throughout the day on Thursday, December 9.

This year’s Charmin Restrooms feature comfortable lounge areas along with special features such as an oversized toilet photo-op, potty dance stage, giant smartphone-inspired video display and a social media kiosk area.

The Charmin Restrooms are located at 142 West 42nd Street in Times Square between 6th Avenue and Broadway and will be open to the public seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. through December 31. They will be open until 6:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve and until 3:00 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, but closed on Christmas Day.
