Washington, DC–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–June 23, 2004–Dell (Nasdaq:DELL) is partnering with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (“CHCI”) to provide the latest computer technology to its program participants, regarded as being among the nation’s next generation of Hispanic business and political leaders.
Dell’s contribution of nearly $200,000 to the CHCI-Dell Technology Center for Latino Leadership will help to equip the facility located here with hundreds of Dell(tm) desktop and notebook computers, servers and printers, along with a software donation from Microsoft(R).
“The Technology Center is a valuable resource for our community and makes the work we do at CHCI even more meaningful. It’s an inspiring example of Dell’s commitment to advancing the interests and opening the doors of opportunity to the Latino community,” said U.S. Rep. Ciro D. Rodriguez, who is chair of the CHCI.
The center allows congressional interns, post-graduate students and participants of CHCI’s High School Leaders Program the ability to participate in intensive leadership training using technology to:
— Collaborate on public policy presentations and recommendations;
— Prepare briefing documents to elected officials;
— Advance skills in grant writing and running a political campaign; and
