Miami, FL–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–June 29, 2006–From Mega Moves to mega-bites, Discovery Networks U.S. Hispanic Group features monumental engineering challenges and Shark Week, as it offers something for every viewer on its three networks: Discovery en Español, Discovery Travel & Living (Viajar y Vivir) and Discovery Kids en Español. Programming highlights for the month of July 2006 are as follows:


SHARK WEEK – July 30 – August 4

Anticipation is building for one of the most popular television events each year, as SHARK WEEK returns to Discovery en Español with a thrilling line-up of specials: Shark Rebellion Shark Attack: Predators in the Panhandle, Shark Attack: A Boy’s Fight to Survive, Shark Hunter Chasing the Great White, American Shark, Anatomy of a Shark Bite, Mike Rowe’s Worst Shark Bites and Mythbusters: Jaws Special.


Teams of engineers, architects and restoration experts are faced with the logistical undertakings associated with relocating massive structures in “Mega Moves,” a three-part series premiering in July. With millions of dollars and irreplaceable buildings on the line, the drama is real and the stakes are serious. Featured challenges include moving a three-story Victorian mansion 190 miles across land and water to its new location; transporting a brand new, state-of-the-art air traffic control tower at London’s Heathrow Airport and relocating a historic 140-foot railroad depot to a new plot in New Mexico:

Expedition Everest: Journey to Sacred Lands follows the journeys and discoveries of Joe Rohde, creative executive with Walt Disney Imagineering, as he embarks on his adventure to Everest to research and replicate the culture, architecture and customs of Nepal for the newest Disney attraction at Disney World. The Himalayas are steeped in deep lore and legend, including the fearsome Abominable Snowman, and the one-hour special captures the spirit of adventure.

CIUDADES Y COPAS – Thursdays, 9:00 PM (ET/PT)

In July, Ciudades y Copas, the series that journeys into the exotic cities of Latin America in search of the most popular regional drinks, now takes its cameras to the United States. The local scenery, culture and character of Los Angeles and Miami are presented through select beverages that represent those cities. The series features unusual coffee, tea, wine, cocktails and spirits.


CORWIN’S QUEST: REALM OF THE YETI – Sun., July 23, at 10:00 PM (ET/PT)

Jeff Corwin examines the legend of the Abominable Snowman, also known as the Yeti, in a remote region of Nepal. Yeti is believed to be an ape-like creature inhabiting high altitudes in the Himalayas, and the continuing legend has led to conservation of virtually untouched pieces of land. Corwin joins an elite team of top scientists to search out new animal species in one of the most mysterious regions on earth.

Each episode of Toddworld illustrates the idea that “it’s OK to be different,” encouraging individuality and creativity. The refreshingly different animation series features four main characters: Todd, his dog Bully, his friend Dot and her cat Mitzy, as they experience life in Silly City.
