San Antonio, TX–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – PRNewswire)–January 30, 2008–Many people believe that Texas and California will become considerably poorer unless the states do a better job of educating and providing job and career information for their youth. An exciting and partial solution to this critical situation will soon be provided via the national roll-out of an innovative and historic Educational Kiosk campaign program. The Kiosk Campaign is a unique concept and program that has been developed exclusively by ikiosksolutions, Inc., (IKS) headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, and now in partnership with Young Jobs.com.
The national campaign will be unveiled at a press conference and ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at O’Connor High School in San Antonio. Invited guests to the press conference and ribbon cutting includes high school students, representatives from various surrounding school districts, business groups such as chambers of commerce, educational foundations, civic organizations, corporate reps, lending institution reps, college and university reps, mayors and city council reps as well as state senators, state representatives, congressman, U.S. Senators, economic development organizations, and representatives from the media.
Per Mr. A R “Tony” Alvarez, CEO of IKS and developer of the kiosk program, “The mission of the campaign is to provide vital, interactive academic and career information to high school students and others on higher education admission, financial aid, examination requirements, student incentives, along with career and employment opportunities through content management information processed through interactive technology and internet applications.” Added Mr. Alvarez, “The kiosk program will also provide high demand career profiles in science, technology, engineering, math, and more. By doing so, IKS and Young Jobs.com, will show a positive impact to the communities they serve by helping more students graduate and be empowered with knowledge about job and career options that they can use to benefit society rather than being dependent on the system – whether it be welfare, criminal, medical or other.”
How the program will work
The program will begin by strategically placing “free-standing” educational kiosks in high schools. Initially, the kiosks placement will be conducted in San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, Austin, and south Texas. Over the next five years, kiosk placement will then be conducted in various California markets that include Los Angeles, San Diego and up through San Francisco, and will then continue in states such as New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona and Florida.
The program will be of no-cost to the schools and students, and will target youths between 14 and 19 years of age, who collectively throughout the entire United States represent over $200 billion in purchasing power. The kiosks will be located in key locations such as in or near counselor’s offices, libraries or other “high traffic” areas with the purpose of providing students a user-friendly, self-service touch screen application.
The innovative, free standing, digital Educational Kiosk was designed by DynaTouch Corporation also based in San Antonio, Texas. Paul Stahl, a representative of the company, emphasized how the development of this unique kiosk would serve to positively impact how students obtain information. “In an era of instant, digital information and technology, the Educational Kiosk will serve to empower students to select and receive vital, web-based academic and job information at the touch of a finger. This will assist them to make important and critical future college, financing and job choices through cutting edge digital technology breakthroughs that will also provide the greatly needed technology support for the school’s counseling and career guidance efforts.”
The Kiosk Opportunity for advertisers and sponsors
The Educational Kiosk program presents great opportunities for advertiser/sponsors who are seeking different and innovative digital grass-roots methods by which to strategically target their messages and reach this viable consumer demographic group of young people. A strong marketing and outreach program will support the initial launch and sustaining efforts of the program and all advertising/sponsorship commitments will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Various corporations, companies, organizations, businesses and lending institutions will be directly approached to participate as sponsor/advertisers in this visionary and creative, digital marketing and technological project that will serve to reverse the current college negative participation rate by increasing enrollment and providing access to job opportunities – especially in the fastest growing younger Hispanic population.
