Hollywood, CA.–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–September 13, 2007–The Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood (“The Club”) will be celebrating its 70th year of providing the children of Hollywood with the essential tools needed for a successful and bright future. The celebration will be held on September 15, 2007 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at The Club (850 N. Cahuenga Boulevard). The event will honor The Club’s milestones while celebrating youth in the Hollywood community. Admission is free! Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.
A “family affair,” the celebration will include carnival activities, games, face-painting, dancing and live entertainment as well as a short presentation by Councilman Tom LaBonge (former Club member). Visual demonstratives will be displayed, showcasing the progression of The Club over the past 70 years.
Melba Culpepper, Executive Director, will be on hand to answer questions and talk about where the club is today, where it was, and where it is going. “We’re really excited to be celebrating our 70th Anniversary,” Culpepper said. “This year we are marking this significant milestone with a celebration for the entire family.”
