The National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Educational Fund and Houston Mayor Pro-Tem Carol Alvarado on Friday will release a new statistical profile of the Latino community in Houston including information on citizenship, English language proficiency, and other data. They will simultaneously unveil a comprehensive civic integration strategy that promotes a more vibrant democracy by increasing the civic engagement of Latinos through U.S. citizenship, electoral participation and financial literacy.
