Univision Radio’s Popular Midday Host David ‘El Gatillero’ Palacios, Named Afternoon Drive-Time Disc Jockey on Los Angeles’ KCSA

LOS ANGELES,–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–March 17, 2004–Univision Radio, the leading Spanish-language radio company in the U.S., today announced that David “El Gatillero” Palacios, Phoenix’s popular midday host, has been named the new afternoon drive-time host on its Los Angeles station KCSA-FM. Palacios’ show, “El Show De El Gatillero,” will launch today at 3:00 pm PT on KSCA-FM “La Nueva” Los Angeles, in addition to KSOL/KSQL-FM “Estereo Sol” San Francisco/San Jose, KZOL-FM “Estereo Sol” Fresno, KOSL-FM “Sol 94.3” Sacramento, KISF-FM “La Nueva” Las Vegas and KHOT-FM “La Nueva” Phoenix.

According to the Fall Arbitron ratings, David “El Gatillero” Palacios’ midday show on La Nueva 105.9 Puro Mexico in Phoenix achieved a 6.8 share among Adults 18-34, outranking all other Spanish-language programs in that time period and making El Gatillero the most popular midday DJ. “El Gatillero” strong ratings even beat all direct competitors in the afternoon drive-time period, including that of Univision’s former afternoon drive-time host.

Palacios was most recently the midday talent for Univision Radio’s Phoenix station La Nueva 105.9 Puro Mexico, where his show achieved the highest ratings in the daypart among all other Spanish-language stations in the market. Prior to joining Univision Radio, Palacios’ show was broadcast on La Campesina 88.3 in Phoenix and syndicated to air in California, Arizona and Washington, where it held the #1 spot. While at La Campesina 88.3, Palacios was named “Voice of the Working Class People” by the Arizona Republic. Prior to coming to the Unites States, Palacios gained experience in both television and radio broadcasting, working with Televisa SA de CV and Multimedio Estrellas de Oro radio network.

Palacios was born in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico. He has a degree in communications from Facultad de Filosofia y Letras in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, where he also received his radio and television license.
