Denver, CO,–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–October 17, 2003–For the third consecutive year, Buchanan’s is supporting the Hispanic Media Awards, which will start at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 17, with a reception, followed by a dinner and awards gala at the historic St. Anthony Hotel in San Antonio, Texas.
The Hispanic Media Awards annually honor the most influential Hispanic publishers, editors, media executives and reporters in the nation who do all or a portion of their work in Spanish. Buchanan’s Scotch Whiskey is a proud sponsor of this event because proceeds support students who are planning a career in Spanish-language journalism as well a students who work on films that focus on obstacles that Latinos must overcome to assimilate in mainstream America.
“This is the third consecutive year that this awards program is being supported by Buchanan’s, which was the very first flagship sponsor” says Chris Day, CEO of Event Concepts, a Denver-based organization that produces the event annually. “This is a company that not only believes in the value of the Hispanic market but has an ongoing commitment to help Hispanics further their education, and thus, their standard of living.”
“We recognize the vital role the Spanish media plays in the Hispanic community and this is why we have associated ourselves from the beginning with this awards program that honors the professional talent and dedication of the Spanish media throughout the United States.” stated Emma Medina, Brand Manager for Buchanan’s Scotch Whiskey. “The fact that some of the event proceeds go towards scholarships for students looking to pursue professional careers in Spanish journalism, confirms Buchanan’s support of Hispanic traditions, aspirations and values that are unchangeable.” concluded Ms. Medina.
