Washington, DC–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–January 4, 2008–Celebration of Three Kings Day will be enhanced this year through the Postal Service’s Express Mail. Although the holiday falls over a weekend, gift packages are guaranteed for delivery in most parts of the country by Saturday, January 5 if mailed through the Postal Service by Friday, January 4.

The Postal Service will cheerfully deliver those last-minute packages to family, friends and acquaintances on Saturday — and even Sunday — when using their premier package service, Express Mail. Unlike other comparable services, Express Mail has no hidden or extra surcharges. Other commercial carriers have increased their rates for 2008, and have surcharges for weekend or residential delivery that are often higher than the base price of shipping. Unlike the competition, Express Mail has just one fixed price to major markets in the United States.

“Express Mail is the only overnight service that delivers 365 days a year, and we offer it at a competitive price, with a guarantee,” said U.S. Postal Service Express Mail Services Vice President Gary Reblin.

Three Kings Day, also known as Epiphany or Día de los Reyes (Day of the Kings), falls 12 days after Christmas on Jan. 6. It is a Christian holiday that celebrates the three kings who gave gifts to the Christ child. The holiday is often a big gift-giving day in the Latino and Hispanic communities — which means that many will be looking for a shipping solution that can get packages to their friends, family members and acquaintances on time.

“Our Hispanic and Latino communities are a large and growing part of the United States, which means they’re a large and growing part of our customer base — everyone relies on the mail,” said Reblin. “Just as with other holidays, we want to make sure we get word out to all of our customers that we want to be their overnight shipper for gifts and packages — and that Express Mail is competitive and reliable.”

To avoid lines at Post Offices, customers can visit usps.com and print shipping labels for Express Mail, find a nearby USPS Express Mail collection box, or schedule a postal carrier to pick packages up through Carrier Pickup™ or Pickup On Demand services.

USPS Express Mail has no hidden fees or surcharges — and includes insurance up to $100 against loss or damage. Signature proof of delivery upon request plus tracking information is also available. The Postal Service also offers free eco-friendly packaging.
