America’s Vote Helps Place Five New Stars in Advertising Spotlight Contest Winners to Appear in Nationally Televised Oscar Mayer Commercial

Madison, WI–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–December 12, 2006–Five lucky songsters combined their passion for singing with their love of the Oscar Mayer jingles to win the hearts of America and an appearance in an upcoming nationally televised Oscar Mayer commercial. Along with their taste of fame, each winner receives $5,000 cash and a trip for four to the commercial taping location.

Thousands of Americans logged on to http://www.singthejingle.com to vote for their favorite Sing the Jingle, Be a Star jingle renditions from a pool of 20 finalists (16 performed in English and four performed in Spanish) to help select the five lucky winners.

How Did They Cut the Mustard?

The world famous Oscar Mayer Wienermobile vehicles spent the summer cruising coast-to-coast, giving Oscar Mayer fans a chance to enter the Sing the Jingle, Be a Star contest. Eager singers performed their own rendition of the Oscar Mayer Wiener Jingle(C), the Bologna Song(C) or the Oscar Mayer Spanish Jingle(C) for a chance to land a spot in the limelight. Fans also entered by submitting a videotape or DVD of their rendition by mail.

Twenty finalist contest entries, selected by a panel of Oscar Mayer appointed judges, were posted online at www.singthejingle.com in October, where people could vote for their favorites.

To help get out the vote, the Wienermobile vehicles stopped in each finalist’s hometown to spread the word, and finalists also received campaign kits with stickers, flyers and t-shirts. America’s votes, along with input from a panel of Oscar Mayer appointed judges, narrowed the pool of 20 finalists to the five grand prize winners (four in English, one in Spanish).
