Photo/Interview Opportunity/Public Event

ADVISORY for…September 12-14 2003

Every Californian should have the opportunity to experience a grape stomp, troll for salmon and learn why avocados aren’t just for guacamole. And now they can.

The first-ever “California Grown” Zone brings the farm to the beach on September 12 – 14. This free, hands-on event provides Southern California residents with unique opportunities to connect to agriculture in unexpected ways, including: an authentic grape stomp, soothing avocado spa treatments, simulated salmon fishing, artistic cheese carving demonstrations, creative garlic braiding and even a chicken clucking contest.

Advance media opportunities and interviews are available before, during and after the “California Grown” Zone event each day. Reporters are invited to “roll up their pant legs”

for this fun, educational and interactive agricultural event.

Friday, September 12th – 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 13th & Sunday, Sept. 14th – 2:00 – 8:00 p.m.

*Early morning media opportunities available – call for special arrangements
