Al Borde Presents Volumen Cero at NASCAR Busch Series ‘Camping World 300’ Race

Los Angeles, CA–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–August 29, 2007–Al Borde, the groundbreaking Latin Alternative entertainment publication, will partner with NASCAR to present a musical performance on Saturday, September 1st by Spanish rock stars Volumen Cero at the NASCAR Busch Series “Camping World 300” race. The event, which takes place at the California Speedway, will be historical as Volumen Cero, the headlining band, becomes the first Latin Alternative rock group ever to perform in a NASCAR series race.

NASCAR contacted Al Borde earlier this year for assistance in their efforts to tap into its niche market. “For the past 10 years Al Borde has gained a loyal following of young, trend-setting Hispanics by staying true to our commitment to be the premier source of news and information on Los Angeles’ Latin Alternative cultural scene. Today more and more organizations look to us as a platform to connect them with this hard-to-reach group,” states Melvin J. Ortiz, New Media Development Manager.

The NASCAR Busch Series “Camping World 300” Race will feature musical performances by other mainstream rock artists that begin at 2pm, and Volumen Cero’s performance will kick off at 4pm.

Volumen Cero was formed in Miami in the mid 90’s as Orgasmic Bliss, but it was not until 2001 that they were signed by Warner Música Latina as Volumen Cero. Since releasing “Andromeda”, their first independent album, they have become an essential part of the East Coast Latin Rock movement. The group was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2005 for best music video.
