More than $150,000 has been awarded to outstanding Hispanic students in Southern California

WHAT:

The Hispanic Public Relations Association (HPRA), a non-profit organization founded in 1984 to advance the careers of Hispanics in the communications industry, is celebrating its 10th year granting $1,000 scholarships to Hispanic students at its Premio Awards dinner reception. HPRA will also recognize four leaders in the communications industry for their contributions in their respective fields.

Honorees:

— Communications Award – Ivelisse R. Estrada, Vice President of Corporate and Community Relations, Univision Communications

— Journalism Award – Jesus Chavarria, Pubisher, Hispanic Business

— Entertainment/Arts Award – Luis Valdez, Founder, El Teatro Campesino

— Corporate Award – Washington Mutual

ABC Correspondent John Quiñones will be the special keynote speaker.
