WIRE)–June 7, 2006–The Puerto Rican Parade Committee of Chicago (PRPC) will
announce its agenda for the Annual Puerto Rican Festivities taking place in June
at the La Raza Newspaper sponsored VIP Press Conference and Networking Event tonight
at Crobar.

The VIP Press Conference
and Networking event will take place today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Crobar in
Chicago (by invitation only), hosting VIP community leaders, as well as, the
media.  The event is produced by La Raza Newspaper, the Official Hispanic
Publication of the PRPC.

The 2006 VIP Kick-Off Celebration
and Networking event will feature a special performance by legendary salsa artist,
“Lefty Perez,” who will perform his new smash hits “Salseros
Unidos” and “Mi Puerto Rico.”  Tsi-Tsi-Ki Felix from Telemundo
Chicago will serve as the Master of Ceremony at this Celebration.

The Puerto Rican Parade
Committee of Chicago was founded 41 years ago. In its 25th year, the six day
June Festival in Humboldt Park has grown to become the largest attended Hispanic
festival in the City of Chicago with an estimated draw of 1,000,000 attendees. 
This year the PRPC is proud to announce the newest addition to the festival:
the “Emerging Artist Stage” that will provide an opportunity for local
artist to compete for a recording contract in the area of Reggaeton and Latin
Hip Hop.

This Festival is also recognized
as one of the most well organized festivals in the City of Chicago and is considered
one of the elite Hispanic festivals in the country. The festival features 40
carnival rides, 200 food booths, 150 merchandise, arts & craft booths, and
2 live entertainment stages featuring some of the best Salsa bands from Puerto
Rico and Chicago.

Other events associated
with the festival include: The Puerto Rican Parade, an 8 K Marathon race, Abrazo
Boricua, Dignitaries Cocktail Reception, three pageants, scholarship banquet
and the Encuentro Boricua, an event that took place in Puerto Rico in April.
