Street Party on Pine

Gear up for “Tecate
Thunder Thursday on Pine,” an event to be held along Pine Avenue between
1st and 3rd streets on Thursday, April 15 from 3 p.m. – 10 p.m.  Attendees
can check out the Grand Prix Association’s pit stop demonstration with
the Newman/Haas Racing team.  Tecate Thunder Thursday is considered the
official kick-off to all the racing excitement. 

Race lovers can enjoy a
specially choreographed dance troupe and drum line beating down the street while
viewing displays of Grand Prix race cars, Trans-Am Series race cars, and classic
and custom cars.  Live music and performances will be on hand to provide
entertainment. Tecate Thunder Thursday on Pine is free to the public.

Lead Mexican Music Talent
Featured in Tecate “Fiesta Friday”

Whether a race fan or a
partygoer, the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach just wouldn’t be the same
without electric live performances to entertain the crowds.  The Tecate
“Fiesta Friday” Concert will take place on the Rock-n-Roar Concert
stage, located near the Convention Center (on Ocean Blvd.).  The series
of concerts will include performances by well known Mexican talent including
Los Ayvar, Carmen Jara con Mariachi and Los Astros de Durango on Friday, April
16 (concerts to begin approx. 5:45 pm).  Additionally, the Rock-n-Roar
Concert stage will host rock group, Everclear on Saturday, April 17 (concert
to begin approx. 5:30 pm).  Both Friday and Saturday performances are free
to race ticket holders.

Miss Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach 2004 — First-Time Ever Event!

Debuting during this year’s
Grand Prix race weekend, Procon Leisure International, known for staging similar,
successful CART events in Canada and Australia, presents in association with
Tecate, the Tecate Miss Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach pageant that will take
place Saturday, April 17, on the Tecate Rock-N-Roar stage following the Everclear

A total of 20 contestants
will be judged in three categories:  interview, swimwear and eveningwear. 
The winners will receive cash prizes, jewelry and the opportunity to represent
the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach in race-related activities throughout 2004
and early 2005 until next year’s pageant.
