SAN ANTONIO–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–Oct. 28, 2003–Americas Training Partners Inc. (“ATP”), doing business locally as San Antonio Training Partners, announced today that it has signed a second project agreement to extend Adelante!, a TWC-funded project, to include a dynamic web-based e-learning component and a customized learning management system.
As part of the agreement, ATP will develop a customized web-based e-learning component and learning management system that will give students the ability to view DVD-based video lessons, do interactive DVD exercises, and take quizzes and tests over the Internet. The system will also track and measure students’ test scores.
Earlier this year, UT-Pan American contracted with Americas Training Partners to create the scripts for the 60-hour, DVD-based, dual-language courseware to teach welfare participants the success skills and essential job skills they need to get an entry-level job in the manufacturing industry. UT-Pan American’s Office of Center Operations and Community Services (CoSERVE) initiated the program in partnership with the South Texas Manufacturing Association to provide a ready workforce for the burgeoning manufacturing industry in the Rio Grande Valley. The Adelante! courseware is planned to be ready by Fall 2004.
Michael Uhrbrock, CoSERVE Assistant Director of Community Development, conveyed his enthusiasm about the new agreement. “We have enjoyed working with Americas Training Partners. They know how to apply the learning principles and technology to meet and exceed the goals for our project,” he said.
Catherine O’Donnell, owner and President of Americas Training Partners Inc. says, “We believe that UT-Pan American is the ideal client for us. We appreciate their dedication, commitment to the audience, and look forward to our continued partnership.”
