DELRAY BEACH, Fla.–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–Aug. 21, 2003–To inspire families to get organized for the new school year, Office Depot, Inc. (NYSE:ODP), the world’s largest reseller of office products, is kicking off a search for America’s Most Organized Parent.
The contest — open to children, parents and friends — asks for fun stories and interesting anecdotes about the most organized parent they know. Entries can be submitted by mail in the form of a video or essay accompanied by an official entry form. Forms are available at Office Depot’s retail stores nationwide as well as online at http://www.officedepot.com, and can be submitted now through September 30, 2003.
“More parents than ever before are trying to get their families better organized for school and daily life,” noted Jocelyn Carter-Miller, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Office Depot. “Demand is increasing for helpful products such as bulletin boards, calendars and in/out boxes as many of our customers look to Office Depot to provide communication solutions both at home and in the office.”
According to Carter-Miller, a recent Office Depot survey conducted by Harris Interactive pointed out that 71 percent of parents that have children going back to school this fall consider themselves to be “not very organized” when it comes to balancing family, work and social responsibilities.
“With our ‘Search for America’s Most Organized Parent Contest,’ we hope to show how getting organized can be not only beneficial, but fun for parents and children gearing up for a new school year,” she added.
The grand prize winner of the contest will receive a Walt Disney World vacation package for up to four people, a $200 money card from Office Depot to purchase school supplies and a Family Communication Station consisting of essential organizational products to keep a family on track. Five runners-up will receive a $200 Office Depot Money Card.
