Study Gives Birth to a New Tampa Hispanic Business Organization

TAMPA, Fla., March 16 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — A new organization geared towards providing leadership and professional resources to Hispanic businesses and individuals in the Tampa Bay area has been created and named the Tampa Latin Chamber (TLC).

The new entity was the result of the concerns of a group of local Hispanic business leaders interested in finding ways to secure business growth and development during these difficult economic times. TLC seeks to act as a unified and dynamic organization in order to stimulate business interaction, professional development and promote success.

An initial survey among Hispanic business people showed that the single most important value sought by members was training and workshops (62% of respondents). The survey also identified the key areas of opportunities currently missed by other organizations such as: economic/business development and communication/marketing to the membership.

A significant number of business owners have shown interest in this new organization, along with key community leaders who have already lent their time and support. The founding committee members who have collaborated on the formation of TLC consist of Leo Alvarez, Norma Camero, Ileana Devin, Al Frederick, Jolie Gonzalez, Giovanni Gutierrez, William Insignares, Orlando Nieves, Grace Posada, Jackie Rojas and Denise Shreaves. The committee developed a short-term plan as the result of a strategic planning session held recently to identify the organization’s mission, goals, current issues, and future steps for the chamber.

The Tampa Latin Chamber will unveil its plans, mission and a summary of the study at the Chamber’s launch event scheduled for Tuesday, April 28th. The luncheon will take place at the Valencia Garden Restaurant from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. To reserve your seat for the event, please e-mail or call (813) 679-4325. For more information, visit .
