Los Angeles, CA–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–August 25, 2004–

— The race will take place on September 19, 2004

— This competition is an official warm up for the Los Angeles Marathon 2005

— It will finish inside of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Olympic Stadium

For the first time the Los Angeles community will have the opportunity to celebrate Latin American Independence festivities by participating in an exciting sporting event, the Azteca 5k & 10k race, set for Sunday, September 19 on Exposition Boulevard and ending inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum’s Olympic Stadium.

Los Angeles residents, of all ages, will be able to register to compete or participate as spectators of this event which will serve as an official warm up in preparation for the 2005 Los Angeles Marathon.

Latin and live mariachi music will be enjoyed in a family atmosphere along the route and at the end of the race. Winners will share cash prizes of $4,500.

The fast, flat, USATF certified course will be marked every mile. There will be chip timing, and water and sports drinks will be available at two stations.
