Taking Festival de la Familia To The Next Level in 2004

Sacramento, CA–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–January 9, 2004–The Latino family festival icon of Sacramento, Festival de la Familia, announced it brought on board Reyes & Associates to take the event to the next level in 2004. The annual Festival de la Familia event, a celebration of Latin countries and cultures has been held in Sacramento since 1992. The board of directors decided that it’s time to review its long-term potential as the single largest one-day celebration of Latin cultures in Northern California.

“This is the appropriate time for us to take the event to the next level. We needed a marketing firm that knows the event, our organization and volunteers, and has also worked extensively with major sponsors to be able to help us get to a level of national recognition,” said Joel Contreras, Chair of the Festival de la Familia Board of Directors. The plan is to have Reyes & Associates assist in the development of a marketing plan to attract national exposure, new sponsors and serve as a consultant as the organization considers the potential to expand to a two-day event.

“I’m extremely happy and proud to be the agency of record for the Festival de la Familia for its publicity, sponsorship and marketing efforts. Working with the Festival de la Familia Event Chairs and Board of Directors is more to me than just a contract – it’s about preserving our familia and its growth,” expressed Sylvia Reyes, President of Reyes & Associates.

The agency, a Sacramento based public affairs, public relations and event management company has represented local, state and national clients. Ms. Reyes and members of her team take great pride in working on the Festival de la Familia event because of its importance in promoting Latino heritage and its traditions.

Festival de la Familia will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2004 at Cal Expo. This year’s theme is Amor, Alegria y Paz (Love, Happiness and Peace). Plans for the event include expanding activities for children, utilizing new areas at Cal Expo, offering more food selections, as well as identifying new talent for entertainment for its five stages.
