Fort Worth, TX–(PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE)–February 18, 2008–World-renowned Mexican soccer star Giovani Dos Santos is teaming up with Bimbo for a dynamic marketing sponsorship to teach Hispanics that a healthy diet plus exercise is truly a winning combination. To kick-off the sponsorship, Giovani met with members of the Bimbo USA sales and marketing team on Wednesday, February 6, 2008, in Houston, Texas.

“We are very excited to have a partnership with Giovani,” said Juan Esaa, brand manager for Bimbo USA. “At the age of 18, Giovani has continually demonstrated the quality characteristics of someone special. Not only is he a great soccer player, but he is a great person too. I can think of no one better to represent the Bimbo brand to all of our Hispanic families.”

Giovani Dos Santos is widely considered to be one of the best young soccer players in the world. He currently plays in Spain for FC Barcelona, one of the premier soccer clubs in the world, where he signed a professional contract when he was 13-years old. In 2007, Giovani joined the first squad for the La Liga powerhouse alongside soccer legends, Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, and Lionel Messi. An incredible accomplishment at any age, but Giovani reached this feat at the age of 18.

“I am happy to be teaming up with Bimbo to help people make wise decisions when it comes to diet and exercise,” stated Giovani Dos Santos. “Bimbo has always been a fantastic supporter of the Hispanic community, and I am looking forward to helping them show kids that with a little hard work, a good diet, and plenty of exercise, anything is possible.”

On the international stage, Giovani won the FIFA Under-17 World Cup with Mexico in 2005, where he was awarded the Adidas Silver Ball. He also was one of the stars of the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in 2007, guiding Mexico into the quarterfinals winning the Adidas Bronze Ball. He is now a member of the Mexican National Senior Team, leading Mexico in an effort to qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He will also be representing Mexico at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Giovani is represented by Philip D. Button at the William Morris Agency in partnership with Pini Zahavi and David Chissick.
