HBC Los Angeles Announces the Promotion of Thomas J. McSweeney to Vice President and Station Manager

DALLAS–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–Sept. 8, 2003–Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation (“HBC”), (NYSE:HSP), today announced that Thomas J. McSweeney, currently Vice President and Western Regional Director of Sales for HBC Los Angeles, Inc., was promoted to Vice President and Station Manager for HBC Los Angeles, Inc.’s radio stations KSCA La Nueva 101.9(FM), KLVE 107.5(FM) and KRCD Recuerdo 103.9(FM), KRCV 98.3(FM) and KTNQ 1020(AM).

Gary Stone, Chief Operating Officer of HBC, remarked, “Thomas has earned this promotion based on his performance as Director of Sales for our station group in Los Angeles. With 10 years experience working at HBC he has distinguished himself among his piers. McSweeney was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area and graduated from the University of San Francisco. In 1994, McSweeney joined HBC at the WOJO(FM) and WIND(FM) stations in Chicago, Illinois. He was named Salesperson of the Year in 1995, was promoted to New Business Sales Manager for the Chicago market, which included WOJO(FM), WIND(FM) and WLXX(AM), and later promoted to Local Sales Manager for WOJO(FM). In 2000, he returned to HBC as General Sales Manager for KLQV(FM) and KLNV(FM) in San Diego, after working with Pax TV station WCPX-TV in Chicago as Vice President and General Manager McSweeney was named as General Sales Manager of the Year in 2001 and 2002 and was elected to the executive board of the Southern California Broadcasters Association as Treasurer in July of this year.
