WHITE PLAINS, NY–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–April 25, 2003–Heineken USA has teamed up with Gen Art, a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to showcasing emerging talent in fashion, film, music and art, to launch a new initiative Heineken Honors…“The Beat of Fashion.” The program is designed to support promising African American and Hispanic fashion designers by shining the spotlight on their unique contributions to the fashion community. The program will also create the opportunity to have fashions by select African American and Hispanic designers showcased during Gen Art’s high profile “Ignite” event at the Puck Building in New York City on July 17, 2003. In addition, selected finalists will be presented with a $2,000 grant at the event.

As part of the initiative, Gen Art will conduct a national outreach via their regional offices to identify talented African American and Hispanic designers whose fashions reflect an appreciation and recognition of music as an inspiration in their creations.
