Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation Announces Jim Ray as General Manager for the Albuquerque Market

DALLAS, TX–(HISPANIC PR WIRE – BUSINESS WIRE)–May 30, 2003–Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation (“HBC”) (NYSE:HSP) announced today that Jim Ray has become vice president and general manager for the five HBC stations in Albuquerque: KJFA(FM) at 101.3 MHz, KIOT(FM) at 102.5 MHz, KVVF(FM) at 101.7 MHz, KKSS(FM) at 97.3 MHz, and KAJZ(FM) at 105.1 MHz.

Jim Ray has served as president and chief operating officer of Equicom Broadcasting (“Equicom”) since 2000. Equicom owns and operates 18 radio stations in six Texas markets. Ray has also functioned as general manager of four Equicom stations in Bryan-College Station. Prior to Equicom, he was the general manager of the Beaumont radio properties for AM-FM, Inc. Jim Ray has been involved in all phases of radio broadcasting for the past 30 years. He has served as an on-air personality, news director and sales manager. Ray has also managed stations in Austin and El Paso.

Upon his acceptance of the position in Albuquerque, Ray said, “I am excited about my association with Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation in the Albuquerque market and am looking forward to working with Peter Moore and the excellent HBC managers and executives, some of whom I have know for many years.” Ray has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He and his wife, Sharon, have two grown children.
