Portland, ME–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–September 4, 2007–Expo Comida Latina, as part of Cultural Food Los Angeles, descends upon LA on September 10th and 11th to celebrate the launch of the newest food and beverage products that are entering the U.S. food markets. Now in its 6th year, Expo Comida Latina continues to lead the way as the premier venue for the edgiest, tastiest, and the healthiest Hispanic foods and beverages attendees will have ever tasted!

The market for Hispanic foods and beverages continues to bloom. According to estimates by Hispanic Telligence, the buying power of Latinos totaled $768 billion in 2005, demonstrating the growing importance of this consumer segment and resulting in a stream of new and traditional Hispanic foods and flavors pouring into the U.S. market.

Among some of the coolest products unveiled at this year’s expo will include drinks like the “Latino Slushy” made by Jarritos(TM) . Jarritos(TM) Frozen Beverage is uniquely packaged in a bag-in-a-box and is ready for restaurant owners to quickly connect the product to frozen beverage dispensers or for bartenders to mix with water for a frozen slush.

Thought LAND O LAKES(R) only distributed butter? Not so. At Cultural Food, LAND O LAKES(R) will introduce LAND O LAKES(R) Extra Melt(R) Process American Cheese. Attendees and their consumers will find that, unlike many other cheeses, Extra Melt Process American Cheese melts smoothly and shreds and slices without sticking to make delicious home-style macaroni and cheese, fajita melt burritos, and more.

After visitors savor all the delectable foods and try all the thirst-quenching beverages, there will be an assortment of desserts to enjoy including Caravan Ingredients new line of Sponge Chiffon Cake Mix. Their Sponge Chiffon Cake Mix is a powder mix that can produce whipped cakes ideal to make Pastel de Tres Leches, a traditional desert that’s a favorite on both sides of the border, jelly rolls, and rum cakes.

Cultural Food Los Angeles 2007 will also feature El Mercado del Mar and KosherWest. KosherWest is a program designed to guide buyers to those exhibitors on the show floor featuring certified kosher products, and El Mercado del Mar is a guide to prepared seafood products appealing to the palettes of the ethnic food market.

This event is open to trade professionals only. Due to liability restrictions, no one under the age of 18, including infants and toddlers, will be allowed on the show floor at any time.
