National TV Network that educates and entertains joins Comcast

New York, NY–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–July 27, 2007–Hispanic Information Telecommunications Network (HITN-TV), the first Spanish-language educational and cultural network in the United States, has announced that it is extending its national reach by partnering with Comcast to bring its award-winning programming that educates and entertains to Chicago.

HITN-TV will be on channel 649 in Chicago. It is a part of Comcast’s new enhanced Selecto Completo service in the city of Chicago that will offer up to 30 channels.

“The Latino population in Chicago has grown substantially in the last decade,” said Jose Luis Rodriguez, HITN-TV Founder and President. “The timing is ideal to pursue our mission there and offer programming with an educational focus that seeks to provide Latinos the tools and information that will help them reach the American dream.”

In order to pursue its mission to tackle issues that impact the Latino community, two live special editions of Malin Falu’s popular show, “Dialogo de Costa a Costa” (“Dialogue from Coast to Coast”), aired directly from Pilsen in Chicago.
