HP Raises the Bar on PC Design with New Line of Personal Computers


Palo Alto, CA–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–April 19, 2007–HP today introduced an attractive new
line of consumer PCs that, for the first time, have been designed to complement
any room of a home that features the latest consumer electronics and home

Part of HP’s The Computer is Personal Again” campaign, the redesigned PCs have an elegant, piano-black finish with refined silver trim and subtle, blue LED light accents.

New features include a power button positioned on the top of the chassis for easy reach, a built-in bay for removable digital storage and a more easily accessible media card reader to simplify enjoyment of digital music, videos and photos.

Additionally, so people can personalize their PCs to best fit their digital lifestyle, HP’s entire consumer PC lineup can be customized with features such as a 15-in-1 card reader, DVD burner(1) and optional HP Pocket Media Drive(2) storage bay.

The new lineup completes the design makeover of HP’s full portfolio of personal systems products such as notebooks, desktops, MediaSmartservers and high-definition TVs, plus the new categories of “walk-up” computing and entertainment devices, such as the HP Touchsmart PC.

HP Pavilion s3000 Series Slimline PC: Less than one-third the size of a regular PC, the Slimline offers convenient access to files, music and video with a pocket media drive bay(2).

HP Pavilion a6000 Series Desktop PC: Delivers a variety of features that make working with digital photos and videos fun and convenient. With optional LightScribe(3) technology, users can create personalized, professional-quality labels for CDs or DVDs.

: The ultimate digital
entertainment desktop PC for enjoying favorite TV shows, music, photos and
video. The optional high-definition DVD allows users to enjoy high-definition
movie playback(4) with six times better resolution than standard DVD.

Also new for 2007 are three widescreen HP monitors: the HP 19-inch diagonal, 20-inch diagonal and 22-inch diagonal. The monitors reflect the modern, clean lines and glossy, black finish and design of HP desktop PCs. They also feature a unique standing frame that provides a keyboard nesting space so users have more available desk space.

Along with HP BrightView technology for eye-popping colors, clearer images and reduced glare, the monitors feature high contrast and resolution, quick response time, integrated rear speakers and dual inputs. HP also added HP Easy Clip, a separate line of accessories for the monitors – such
as a specially designed photo holder, flower vase, document holder or webcam to the beveled edge of the monitor – that allows consumers to further personalize their workspace and maintain a clutter-free environment.

The new desktop and monitor designs complement the recently introduced HP Pavilion tx1000 Entertainment Notebook PC, the industry’s first touch-screen consumer tablet PC, which began shipping last month. The notebook features curved edges and a piano-black glossy finish with the HP Imprint design, a touch-screen display, built-in miniature remote control, HP QuickPlay instant movie viewing feature, karaoke and a screen that swivels 180 degrees and folds flat for working or enjoying movies in tight travel spaces such as airplanes or trains.
