–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–

ADVISORY for Monday, May 9

WHAT:

IBM top executives will join the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR), a coalition of 14 national Hispanic organizations and one of most influential advocacy organization in the nation, to announce final rankings and research results of the organization’s first ever HACR Corporate Index Survey of FORTUNE 100 companies.

WHO:

Nicholas Donofrio, IBM senior vice president, Technology and Manufacturing and a member of IBM’s Workforce Diversity Worldwide Management Council (WMC) will be the only FORTUNE 100 executive speaking and answering questions from the podium that morning.

One-on-one interviews available: Two top (bilingual) IBM executives are available for interview to discuss IBM’s ranking in HACR’s Corporate Index Survey following the press conference:

— Patt Cronin, Vice President Business Transformation, Global Services

— Miriam Briggs, Vice President, Marketing, Strategic Growth Businesses

WHY:

The survey is groundbreaking and important to the Hispanic community because:

1. It is a barometer of Hispanic progress within corporate America and the boardroom. For instance, 57 percent of companies surveyed have Hispanics in the boardroom vs. 37% of all FORTUNE 100 companies–Hispanics hold 3.85 percent of all board seats available in FORTUNE 100 boardrooms.

2. It illustrates the growing significance of Hispanic market as a consumer segment. This survey showed that 76 percent of respondents track Hispanic marketshare and 48 percent commit to a specific spending volume with Hispanic-owned firms.

3. There is a greater need to make a specific economic commitment to the Hispanic small business community.

4. Less than half of participants have not adopted a model for community support of the Hispanic community.
