Los Angeles, CA–(HISPANIC PR WIRE)–July 30, 2004–The distribution rights to Rick Najera’s award-nominated, hit comedy show Latinologues(TM) have been licensed by Image Entertainment for DVD release. The production will be filmed at a Special Celebrity Latinologues performance at the Ricardo Montalbán Theatre in Hollywood on Saturday, July 31 at 8:00 p.m. and will be directed by Sergio Guerrero and produced by Sabrosa Entertainment’s Kevin Benson and Michael Harpster for distribution by Image Entertainment, the leading independent supplier of DVD software in North America.

Latinologues(TM) will be released in three parts, with the first DVD coming in early 2005. Kevin Benson and Michael Harpster, veterans of entertainment marketing and sales, will lead the marketing efforts nationwide. Image Entertainment’s marketing efforts involve point-of-sale advertising, advertising in trade and consumer publications, television and radio, dealer incentive programs, trade show exhibits, and bulletins featuring new releases and catalogue promotions. Image also has account-specific marketing programs working directly with retailers to optimize sales. Image also implements Internet promotional activities which include product tie-ins, sweepstakes and giveaways within direct-to-consumer Web sites.

Mexico and Latin America’s top comic, Eugenio Derbez (Derbez en Cuando, Derecho al Derbez, Shrek 2 en Español), will guest star in the Latinologues(TM) DVD along with other invited guest celebrities such as Jacob Vargas (Traffic, Next Friday, Selena), René Laván (upcoming Tim Allen film Christmas with The Kranks, Dirty Dancing 2:Havana Nights), Carlos Gomez (House of Sand and Fog), Latin hip hop artist Chingo Bling, and the writer and creator of Latinologues(TM), Rick Najera (MAD TV, In Living Color, Disney TV Animation).

The Latinologues(TM) Special Celebrity Performance takes place one night only on Saturday, July 31 at 8:00 p.m. at the Ricardo Montalbán Theatre, 1615 N.
